May Day
May first is the day
When children play,
And hang a basket of flowers
On your doorknob—
and mine.

Happy Thought
The world is so full of a
Number of things,
I'm sure we should all be
As happy as kings.
Robert Louis Stevenson
I'm a Little Rockhound
(Tune: I'm a Litte Teapot)
I'm a little rockhound
Digging in the ground.
I tell my friends
What I've found.
When I go exploring
Hear me shout.
Look at this rock
I just dug out!

Two Legs for Birds
2 legs for birds,
and you and me.
4 legs for dogs,
and squirrels in a tree.
6 legs for beetles.
Away they go!
8 legs for spiders.
What do you know!

Secret
We have a secret
Just we three
The robin and I
And the sweet cherry tree.
The robin told the tree
And the tree told me
And nobody knows
But just we three

I Have A Bird
I have a bird.
Her song I've heard.
Her nest is in our tree.
She flies away from me.
I love my bird.

Adopted from I Have a Cat
Little Rock
(Tune: You are My Sunshine)
If you find a little rock,
A smooth and shiny rock,
Pick it up
And add it to your collection.

Pet Rock
My friend has a pet rock
I know—
He told me so.
I have a pet cat—
Fancy that!

A Rock is a Letter
A rock is a letter
from the earth
And it says:
"Take care of me."
