Hi there!
As we enter 2022 at Nellie Edge Resources, we recognize that our colleagues are carrying a heavy load. Social Emotional Learning has become even more essential to the lives of our children—and their teachers.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) underlies everything we do!
Multisensory, art-rich teaching and learning is how the brain learns best. It allows students to be creative, move their bodies, personalize experiences, and develop confidence expressing ideas and feelings.
We are beginning plans for our Kindergarten Summer Institute in late July 2022 in Salem, Oregon. “Celebrate Language and Build Social Emotional Skills!”
Meanwhile, we hope you will find one of our SEL Photo Essay-Blogs to peruse this month. Our goal is to support best teaching practices and remind you of why you love to teach. Please know how much we value our teachers!
Thank you for following our work in joyful, authentic approaches to early literacy. Even in these challenging times, may you feel the rewards of creating a joyful community of learners: Be intentional in honoring both the art AND science of reading instruction!
SMILES of appreciation,
Nellie Edge
